Our Beliefs
As Evangelical Christians we are followers
of the Lord Jesus Christ and his teachings as found in the Holy Bible.
We rely on the Holy Bible as our only rule and guide for matters of
faith and living. This is because the Bible is God’s message to all
people and as such we can depend on it completely.
The Bible tells us that, Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
He is God’s one and only Son sent from heaven into this world.
But why did he come? He came to save or rescue sinners from death and hell.
The Bible teaches that all men (women and children) are sinners because
they have offended God and broken his laws. The result of this
disobedience is that God is angry and has promised to punish all sin.
But Jesus, by dying on the cross at Calvary, has taken God’s anger
against sin on himself. And today, to all that trust in him for
forgiveness of sins and for everyone who obeys his teaching, he gives
pardon and the free gift of eternal life. This is what Christians
often refer to as "being saved". Only Jesus is able to take away our
sin and give to us a new and fulfilling life.
Here is a brief summary of what we believe:
- The Bible is the inspired word of God and is without error.
- There is only one God who is eternal and exists in three persons
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- That Jesus Christ is fully God. We believe in his virgin birth,
his sinless life, his death to pay the penalty of our sins, his bodily
resurrection and his exaltation at God’s right hand. We believe that
Jesus will return again as he promised.
- That all who receive Jesus Christ by faith are born again
by the Holy Spirit and are eternally saved.
- That the Holy Spirit lives within every believer to enlighten,
guide and enable us in our daily lives, testimony and service for God.
- That there will be a bodily resurrection of every person when
Jesus Christ comes again. Those who have believed on Jesus as their Lord and
Saviour, while here on earth, will enjoy eternal blessings in heaven; while
those who have rejected Jesus Christ will experience the everlasting conscious
punishment of the lost in hell.
