Hasn't science disproved the Bible and therefore God? Evolution is proven so why do we need a God? How do we know what's in the Bible isn't made up? How can there be a God when there is so much suffering? Wasn't Jesus just a prophet? If the Bible is true why doesn't it doesn't mention dinosaurs? I live a good life so won't I go to heaven anyway? Isn't the Bible full of children's stories? If you have any further questions please feel free to

No science hasn't disproved God. There are things
in the Bible which science has no answer for but that
is not the same as disproving it. In the same way events
happen today which science has no answer for. Much of
the Bible is grounded on good science. There is also a need
for God in the heart of every man.
Evolution is not fact, it has never been scientifically
proven and remains a theory. It takes faith to believe in
evolution as it does in creation. In fact the complexity of
the created world argues for an intelligent creator rather
than a sequence of random genetic mutations.
There is in fact more textual evidence about events in
the bible than there is that Caesar lived and ruled the
Roman Empire. Also secular historians in Egyptian and
Roman civilisations made reference to events which
happened in the Bible.
suffering is a result of mans decisions. When God
originally made the earth everything it is was perfect
and there was no suffering. However, due to mankind's
decision to rebel against God and insist that we knew best
the perfect world God had made for man was damaged. We live
in that damaged world with all the consequences that brings; pain
sickness and death. It is not that God doesn't care what
happens to us but that he does not want to run our lives for us,
making our decisions. Suffering also provides us with the
opportunity to recognise what our sin has done and turn to God.
Jesus himself taught that he was more than just a prophet "For
I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do
the will of him who sent me." Jesus teaching doesn't leave room
for him to be a good man, a prophet or a teacher. He was the
Son of God who came to save us from our sins.
The Bible does not specifically mention dinosaurs, but it
also doesn't specifically mention other animals which were
around at the time of these events. Just because they aren't
overtly identified doesn't compromise the bible's message.
The bible is concerned with turning lost mankind back to God
by calling us to repent of our sins and cry out to God for
forgiveness and a relationship with him.
Sadly no. The Bible clearly teaches that only those who
have repented of their sins and turned to God will go
to heaven when they die. This is why it is so vital
to read what the Bible has to say about our sinful nature
and act on Jesus teaching. The gospel of Luke is a good
place to start reading.
The Bible does contain some very colourful children's stories.
But all these stories have meaning and reveal something about
either mankind's sad state before God or Gods love for us.
The teaching of the Bible has implications for everyone in every age,
teaching us about living in society, relationships, love, depression,
family life and most importantly our need of Jesus to die for our sins.
